For one day the backyard saw some hot skate action again. Everyone that showed was very cool. There was not a shitty attitude in the yard that day. The pool is a right hand kidney with large transitions, basically a dream pool. Ray Flores showed up and was hitting tiles at almost 50 years old. Wes Humpton did the original Dogtown graphics and he showed up to watch. After 25 years of trying to ride there Salba was ripping lines everywhere. Tyco did a fside grinder under the slide and grabbed the slide and basically ripped so hard his back gave out. Pete the Ox skated on the edge of lunacy. Jeff Hartsell showed up and took three ripping runs. Andy Mac ripped tricks everywhere. Buster did some sick tricks, including a full fside invert. Lance ruled. Others in attendance included Tony Farmer, Red Dog, Rhino, Peter King, Matt Moffet and many others. There was a ladder in the deep end that became an obstacle for many to clear. Thanks were said to Mr. Gonzales, the place was cleaned up and everyone bailed. Thanks to Ozzie for a once in lifetime event. |
