| Around 1994-1995, this flipper Jim Benson lived in Pittsburgh, PA. He had a skateboard/clothing company called "Brown" and sketchbooks filled with wacky colorful illustrations, each one with its own psychological title, that he planned to make in to t-shirts. "Montage" was like a 5 hour epic skateboard video he made complete with artsy stuff, hippy nature shots, good skating, and funny turtle footage. Jim was the motivator for my first long distance overnight skate trip to Dodge skatepark in Columbus, OH. If he had his way we'd listen to Dinosaur Jr and Sebadoh the whole time. He'd take pictures of his neighbor and friend doing skateboard stunts and vice versa. Elfer Productions could use a person like Jim. Frontside flip at Crafton Banks photos by Sebastian Nichols |
