By this time it was almost 4:30 P.M. so we decided to hang in Huntington 'til after rush hour and then go to the Combi again. Turner hadn't been there yet and you can sk8 until 11 P.M. During our wait in H.B. Joe tried to go surfing BRA in a full snow suit. Turner and myself went out to the end of the Pier to some diner/bar. Had a few and drooled over the chicks working in their fifties style mini skirts. Joe said he didn't have much luck surfing BRA. Should've been drinking. The traffic died and we went to Vans, scammed in again. (I really hope some Vans fag is reading this. On the other hand you are probably too fucking cool to be reading something like this). Had a blast while skating. Joe made some good front-side airs in the round, Turner ripped, I remember eating shit a lot. Hands down we all agreed that those little tiles are the best. Doing double truckers with the sound of your other two wheels humming over those little bastards is like 12/16/99 There is something that southern Cal has a monopoly on; backyard pools. Probably the most anticipated part of the trip was skating the pools. Fortunately we had good hook-ups that know where the pools are. While crashing in Hollywood with one of Turner's friends from from Ohio (Sorry I can't remember her name) we got some directions over the phone from Salba. The day was started with a good 30 min ride at the XXXnd Street pool in Inglewood. Pools in the East in general do not have the trannys like the pools in the West do. This was the first of many and we knew it. The XXXnd is a right kidney including a workable hip, wide open shallow, a kind of tea cup in the deep, and smooth coping. A little dusty but not even worth talking about. The dogs next door (pit bulls) started to freak on Joe's dog (lab) and some gangster kids were creeping around the truck - Time To Go! |
