The first time I met Zito was back in '89 before the park was finished. He was all amped out about building the park and rambled on and on, he tripped me out, so did the idea of a skateboard park. I had only heard of skateparks and seen photos in the mags, the concept of a park 10 minutes from my house was mind altering. Back then I never thought much of skating, I just had a blast.

As the years went by I became friends with Zito and skated the park 3-4 times a week. Everything seemed to revolve around Maximus. Even when the gang went to the Skate Hut or Ratz, we'd meet at Maximus to consolidate. Then those parks closed down, skating tranny became lame and fashion became a priority to many skaters; but, Maximus kept going.
