You started digging when you lived on Sidney St. that must have been Fall of 96. Yeah, I wanted it then. I wanted it before then. I always wanted a ramp, always wanted to build a ramp. My parents had a realy nice backyard for it, would've been perfect. They never understood skateboarding and still don't.

So how did you end up here? On Melwood? Um, I got an apartment here on Polish Hill a few years ago and living on Polish Hill made me realize I wanted to stay here because ... it's an awesome neighborhood. It's like a small, remote, quiet neighborhood right inside the city ... and a lot of old people and old buildings. And I started looking for the old buildings and I saw this one for (emphatically) a long time. I'd just ride my bike by it and ask the neighbors if they knew anything about it. Guy next store gave me the phone number of the owners. Then I started working for them, they're a construction company that owned it, small uh family construction company. Kind of hard, hard asses to work with, they're really good, good people, good workers, good people, and I wound up buying it off of them.
